Time and constant use can lead to pipes becoming obstructed or altogether blocked. The most common causes include tree roots, deterioration, cracks, mineral buildup, and grease clogs. When water can't flow through the pipe or a collapse occurs, it's time to bring in heavy-duty piercing equipment from TRIC Tools to push through the obstacle and install a new pipe.
But before you engage in a pipe bursting project, you need to understand your trenchless pipe piercing equipment.
Bursting Heads
A pipe bursting head pushes the old, deteriorated, or collapsed pipe out of the way. It does double-duty by pulling a new pipe through the space as soon as the old materials are removed. We offer five bursting head options, including our four- and six-inch TRIC Lock heads and our four-, six- and eight-inch standard bursting heads.
Pulling Units
We manufacture three types of pulling units to pair with the different types and sizes of bursting heads. Each of our three pulling units offers many helpful features for your trenchless pipe rehabilitation services.
- X30: The X30 is our standard unit for residential pipe piercing projects. It bursts pipes measuring up to six inches in diameter. Use it with our 0.75-inch swaged cable.
- M100: Use the M100 pulling unit on municipal pipe piercing projects. It bursts pipes measuring eight to 12 inches in diameter. With 98 tons of pulling force, it quickly pushes through common problems, such as collapsed pipes.
- M50: If your work entails commercial projects, you'll need our M50 pulling unit to pair with the largest size of bursting heads. The M50 bursts through eight-inch sewer mains and more.
Pipe piercing makes quick work of residential and commercial pipe problems. With the right equipment, your plumbing company will have the capacity to provide service to many customers.
