Bursting heads are an essential piece of equipment for trenchless pipe rehabilitation. These rugged tools burst through the old pipe and allow the puller to install the new pipe. At TRIC Tools, we're proud of our range of standard and locking pipe bursting heads, which are available in a range of sizes to suit your needs for trenchless pipe piercing equipment.
Standard Bursting Heads
Our 4-inch standard configuration bursting head pairs with pipe ends and PE caps fused to the new HDPE pipe. The 6-inch heads pair with a 3/4-inch cable and an open shackle, and they can also be fused to the pipe or paired with a cap. Our largest bursting head measures 8 inches in diameter. Attach it to a pope or a PE cap that's fused to the HDPE pipe. The 8-inch heads require a 1.125- or 1.25-inch diameter swaged cable and a TPI stud termination measuring 2 by 4.5 inches.
Locking Heads
We manufacture 4- and 6-inch TRIC-Lock pipe bursting heads. They're a direct attachment to the 4-inch and 6-inch pipes. You won't have to deal with any fusion activities that add to the project's timeline. The locking heads also don't require the use of a PE cap. Pair the pulling equipment and head with a 3/4-inch or 5/8-inch diameter cable with an open-shackle end. The shackle pin's attachment to the pulling eye facilitates entry of the bursting head into tight spaces. The 4-inch bursting head works with both sizes of cable, and the 6-inch bursting head pairs with the 3/4-inch diameter cable.
