Pulling Units
Our pulling units are the hydraulic rams that convert fluid pressure into cable tension in order to pull the bursting head and replacement pipe. The upper gripper assembly holds on to the compact swage cable as it pulls during the extension stroke, and the lower gripper assembly keeps the cable under tension during the return stroke. This simple, reciprocating motion continues until the replacement pipe is fully pulled into place.
